TCL Support tri for life 2010

TCL are proud to support tri for life 2010. tri for life is the UK's annual charity triathlon event which succeeds in combining a fun, challenging day out with raising money for some very worthwhile causes. The 2008 and 2009 events collectively raised to £300,000 and the target for 2010 is to raise £200,000.

Sticky's 1000 Mile Parkour Challenge

Johnny Sticky Budden, one of the UK's leading parkour runners has announced a 1000 mile parkour run from the top of Scotland to Paris (the birthplace of parkour). He will visit many towns and cities along the way, performing the jumps that have made him one of the leading exponents of the sport. Johnny is running to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease. For the 2010 awards Triathlon Consultants are pleased to have Newton Running and 2XU both nominated for three awards. The 2XU V:1 wetsuit has been nominated for the 'Best wetsuit' award, the Newton Gravity shoe has been nominated for the 'Best Triathlon Shoe' award and the Newton Isaac guidance trainer has been nominated for the 'Most innovative product' award.


Robson Green's Wild Swimming Adventure in 2XU

UK TV star Robson Green sported an infamous 2XU E:1 wetsuit in his latest two part documentary for ITV. 'Wild Open Water Swimming' featured Robson Green dipping his toe in some seriously extreme open water swim conditions. The journey began in a rather tame lido but he swiftly progressed to scary adventures, freezing conditions and natural whirlpools in the ice cold seas of Scotland.

Richard Stannard Takes Gold

Great Britain Triathlete and Leatherhead Swimming Club member Richard Stannard broke two European and five British Masters Records at the British Gas ASA Masters & Senior Age Group Swimming Championships in Sheffield last weekend. He competed in five events, the 1500m, 800m, 400m, 200m Freestyle and the 200m Butterfly. Richard took Gold and set Records in every event!

Tri For Life Allstars Victory

At the Tri for Life weekend, Triathlon Consultants entered an "all star Team" to race a 400m swim 20km bike and 5km run Richard Stannard, fastest open water swimmer in the triathlon world, and multiple aquathlon world Champion lead off in the swim. He handed on a virtually unsalable lead after only 400m.


Craig Alexander Ironman Victory

Proving once again that he can run down anyone, Crowie smoked the field in the marathon to win the 2009 Ford Ironman World Championships with a time of 8:20:21. Crowie came out of T2 in 10th place and more than 12 minutes behind the leader Chris Lieto. Digging deep and throwing down at 2:48 marathon, Crowie chased down such stars as Normann Stadler and Chris McCormack, broke away from Andreas Raelert at the Energy Lab, and passed Chris Lieto at mile 21 to go on to victory. The conditions were tough – hotter than hell and not a breeze to be found. It was an outstanding race – congratulations to all competitors!
