tri
for life is the UK's annual charity triathlon event
which succeeds in combining a fun, challenging day
out with raising money for some very worthwhile
causes. The 2008 and 2009 events collectively raised
to £300,000 and the target for 2010 is to
raise £200,000.
On Sunday 5th September in Eton, Windsor, whether
you choose to do a triathlon (long or short) or
a duathlon (run, bike, run), there's the promise
of a great day ahead for the whole family. Kids
can take part too with a scootathlon and a fun run.
There will also be a dedicated area for the little
ones with face painters, bouncy castles and go-karts.
You can even choose to enter the triathlon as part
of a relay team, sharing the swim, bike and run
between your friends or family.
The chosen charities for 2010 include Rays of Sunshine,
World Jewish Relief, Great Ormond Street Hospital
and Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. In addition,
a significant proportion of the funds raised will
be distributed to a variety of much smaller, lesser
well known charities. These can be nominated by
entrants on the site.
